School for operators of forest machinery

The main goal of the School is the formation of professional personnel potential to provide high-tech logging and wood processing services. The operator or machinist of forest machines is one of the leading professions in the logging area. With the introduction of new integrated forest machines Harvesters and Forwarders there is now a new profession on the basis of driver license of categories S , D and E, - a logging machine operator (operator of Harvester, Forwarder). Harvesters are becoming more widely used in logging sites. Harvester’s work cycle includes:

  • cutting;
  • branch cutting;
  • cutting into assortments.

The combination of these procedures allows logging with a minimum number of workers. The effectiveness and safety of work performed depends largely on the operator’s skills and actions in emergency situations. An analysis of accidents and injuries during the operation of machines shows that the greatest number of accidents and accidents occurs through the fault of the operator. Therefore, it is required of the operator to follow Rules for the Construction and Safety of Operation of Harvesters and Forwarders
